Best Season to Visit Kashmir
Kashmir is beautiful throughout the year, and each season offers a different travel experience.
Spring & Summer (March to June): Ideal for enjoying pleasant weather, colourful gardens, green valleys, and sightseeing.
Monsoon (July to September): A good time to enjoy Kashmir’s lush green landscapes and relatively peaceful atmosphere.
Autumn (October to November): Perfect for experiencing beautiful autumn colours, especially around Srinagar and the surrounding valleys.
Winter (December to February): The best choice for travellers who want to experience snowfall and winter activities. Gulmarg is particularly popular during this season.
For snowfall, December to February is generally preferred, although actual snowfall can vary from year to year.
Tour Itinerary (6 Nights / 7 Days):
Day 1: Jammu → Katra (Vaishno Devi Darshan)
Pickup from Jammu Railway Station / Airport. Drive to Katra (Approx 45 km / 1.5 hrs) and check in at hotel.
Proceed for Mata Vaishno Devi Temple Darshan (by trek / helicopter – own cost).
Return to Katra after Darshan.
Overnight stay at Katra.
Day 2: Katra → Srinagar (Approx 240 km / 7–8 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Srinagar through the beautiful Patnitop Hills & Banihal Tunnel.
Arrive at Srinagar, check into Deluxe Houseboat / Hotel.
Evening enjoy a Shikara Ride on Dal Lake.
Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 3: Srinagar → Sonamarg → Srinagar (Day Excursion)
After breakfast, full-day excursion to Sonamarg – “Meadow of Gold”.
Enjoy the majestic snow peaks and optional Pony Ride to Thajiwas Glacier (own cost).
Return to Srinagar by evening.
Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 4: Srinagar → Gulmarg (Day Excursion)
After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg – the Meadow of Flowers.
Visit Golf Course, Khilanmarg, and enjoy Gondola Ride (own cost).
Return to Srinagar evening.
Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 5: Srinagar → Pahalgam
After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam – Valley of Shepherds.
En route visit Saffron Fields, Apple Orchards, and Awantipura Ruins.
Enjoy scenic beauty and leisure at the Lidder River.
Overnight stay at Pahalgam.
Day 6: Pahalgam Sightseeing → Srinagar
After breakfast, visit Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, and Chandanwari (by local cab – own cost).
Return to Srinagar and visit Mughal Gardens – Shalimar Bagh & Nishat Bagh.
Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 7: Srinagar → Jammu (Departure)
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Jammu.
Drop at Jammu Railway Station / Airport with divine and scenic memories.
